In my village, a few farmers recently bought the John Deere 5050 D, and I’ve been observing how it works in different soil conditions. Our land is a mix of black soil and slightly hard patches. I’m curious whether it maintains steady torque while using a rotavator on tougher ground. I prefer tractors that don’t lose power under load. Also, what about spare parts availability in smaller towns? If maintenance becomes complicated, it can create problems during harvest. Anyone here from rural areas using this model regularly?
I’m thinking about upgrading my current tractor and the Mahindra 265 DI is on my shortlist. My land is around 6 acres, and most of the work includes ploughing, rotavator use, and some transport during harvest. I don’t want a very high HP tractor if it’s not necessary, mainly because fuel cost is already high.
In my village, a few farmers use the Mahindra 265 DI and say it’s simple to maintain. Mechanics nearby are familiar with it, which gives some confidence. Still, I would like to know how it performs after 4–5 years of regular use.
How is the engine reliability in the long term? Does maintenance cost stay reasonable? Also, is resale value decent if someone plans to upgrade later? Honest advice from current owners would really help me decide.
