  Gudi Padwa is the first day of the Marathi new year and is considered one of the most auspicious days of the year. As it is the first day of the new year, this day signifies new beginnings and hopes.  The festival is also celebrated as Ugadi in the southern states of Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. If anyone is planning to buy a new house, then there is no better day than the Gudi Padwa festival. Any festival naturally brings a lot of happiness and cheer to people. However, there is a lot of excitement also as a result of the many offers and discounts that are offered in the market. There are many schemes in the real estate sector as well and this makes it a good time to invest in a property.

   

  The Gudi Padwa festival and its significance

   

  Gudi Padwa is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month of the Hindu calendar and it is the first day of the new year for the people living in Maharashtra and the Konkan region. It is also celebrated in some of the southern states of India.  It is an auspicious day in the Northern part of India as well. It marks the beginning of Chaitra Navaratri which starts on this day and ends with the festival of Shree Ram Navami.  Gudi Padwa consists of two words- ‘Gudi’, which means a flag of Lord Brahma, and ‘Padwa’ meaning the first day of the phase of the moon.
