    What is sacroiliac joint pain?

    Sacroiliac (SI) joint pain is a condition that can be found in the low back and buttocks. It's caused by damage or injury to the sacrum-colon junction, which causes intense discomfort when walking long distances due to its proximity with other key muscles like those of your hip and knee joints.

    The sacroiliac joint solely connects the spine to the hip area. It can vary from mild pain to severe, depending on its cause and extent of injury, but most acute symptoms last no more than one or two weeks before they subside entirely with time.
