Jacobs is known for his grungy and androgynous aesthetic. He has won many awards, including four CFDA Awards for Designer of the Year. Marc Jacobs was born in New York City in 1963. His mother was a homemaker, and his father was an accountant. Jacobs began designing clothes at a young age, and he often made his own clothes. He attended Parsons School of Design in New York City, where he graduated in 1984.
