NordVPN can help keep your identity safe
Personally, I believe that VPN providers should not be based in countries where data storage laws are too strict. These laws and the main function of VPN anonymity simply represent a conflict of interest.
We've seen exactly how this can turn out for some VPN users, as in the case of ipvanish, an American VPN service provider that allegedly provided registered information about one of its users to the Department of homeland security, leading to the suspect's arrest. The biggest contradiction in this case was that it wasn't even supposed to have these logs.
Alternatively, countries like Panama, where NordVPN is based, are more consumer-oriented and give less authority to the authorities. This allows us to believe that NordVPN will be able to stick to its weapons in case any attempt is made to extract any information from it.
Strict log-free policy
Given what I shared above, I'm also more inclined to believe NordVPN when it publicly States that the company doesn't do logging.
According to their own website, "NordVPN guarantees a strict no-registration policy for NordVPN services, which means that your activity using NordVPN services is provided by an automated technical process, is not tracked, recorded, registered, stored, or transmitted to third parties."
