We were taught history on maps at uni. Most of the time it was about various campaigns and wars. We were clearly shown the path of the warriors on interactive maps. It was interesting, that's why we wanted to study it. Suggest to your teacher to create for you such maps with showmymap or do it yourself, I think for that you will get a good grade and you will help your classmates to prepare for the exam. It will also be interesting to prepare by video clips and scholarly articles. This is more interesting and accessible than school books...

Watch historical movies. They're very good at depicting historical events and you have a good time
