The Juntos legislators consider that the chambers will remain “closed”, with no possibility of advancing issues that need broad consensus, such as vacancies in the Court or a new retirement law for Banco Provincia
The Buenos Aires Legislature will not be a sphere of activity for projects that require agreements between the ruling party and the opposition to advance. At least that is how they analyze it in the legislative ranks of Juntos, in which they do not show any expectation of being able to reach understandings with the ruling party of Governor Axel Kicillof . They observe that the Legislature will remain virtually “closed” during the electoral year and that only matters of little importance will be approved.

In the balance of pending issues, opposition legislative sources evaluate, this year there will be coverage of the three vacancies that the Buenos Aires Supreme Court has, the drafting of a new retirement law for Banco Provincia, the regulation of delivery applications, single ballot projects, permanent electoral deployment, initiatives on municipal autonomy, or the pro-government project to reform the law that regulates police personnel.
Asked about the possible negotiations to fill the vacancies in the provincial Court or draft a new retirement law for the Banco Provincia (the Buenos Aires Court suspended the regulation of the government of María Eugenia Vidal last month ), a legislative referent of Juntos maintains: “No I see that they can advance this year.Perhaps some appointment of judges can come out, but not those of the Court. Regarding the Banco Provincia law, the Court gave the solution that the precautionary measure be maintained until a regulation that does not generate losses is discussed.
“There is no way for a new Bapro retirement law to come out. They can put it on the agenda, but we would vote against it. To discuss this issue, they would have to think about which of our projects they would accompany”, warns a deputy from the Juntos bloc.
