1. Tetris
Tetris is a puzzle game that was made in 1984 in the Soviet Union. The goal of the game is simple: break lines of blocks before they reach the top. A square block makes up the line. The shape of the four blocks that fall down is a Tetrimino.
Tetris has been made for almost every computer and video game system, and it is often thought of as a classic.
Even though there have been many sequels to Tetris, most of them have the same way to play: different-shaped blocks fall at different speeds, and as they fall, the player must rotate and move them to make a horizontal row that doesn't break. When a player makes one or more solid rows, those rows go away. The goal of the game is to keep the blocks from piling up to the top of the screen for as long as possible. In later versions of the game, there were different ways to play and unique twists, but the overall game play was often very similar to the original Tetris.
