PYONGYANG, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Ri Su Yong, foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has demanded the United Nations withdraw a 2014 human rights resolution on Pyongyang, the official KCNA news agency reported Wednesday.
Sin Tong Hyok Nike Vapormax Blue , a "north defector", recently confessed his "testimony" was a fabrication, which led to a "collapse" of the basis of the human rights resolution adopted at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, the foreign minister said in separated letters to Ban Ki-moon and UN General Assembly's President Sam Kutesa.
Last month, Sin Tong Hyok, or Shin Dong-hyuk called in South Korea Nike Vapormax Black , recanted part of his story as a victim of human rights abuses in the DPRK and admitted part of his account was not true.
In the letter, the minister asked the United Nations to "take due measures to revoke the resolution" which Pyongyang claims was adopted "based on fabricated information."
He also asked Ban and Kutesa to urge "initiators" of the resolution to apologize before the international community.
"In such a case, it will be more evident that the UN arena where the impartiality and objectivity become the principles of activities was misused for the anti-DPRK 'human rights' racket and this will result in deeply undermining 'the confidence the UN enjoys," the KCNA quoted the letter as saying.
In November 2014, the Third Committee of the 69th United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution, drafted by the European Union and Japan Nike Vapormax Off White , that recommends the Security Council refer the DPRK to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Mar. 6 (Xinhua) -- Rio de Janeiro's Maracanazinho arena will stage the year's first 2016 Olympic test event in July, local organizers said on Friday.
The venue will host the FIVB volleyball World League finals from July 14 to 19.
It will be the second Rio 2016 test event, following an international sailing regatta in Guanabara bay last August.
"Hosting the world's top volleyball players at the spiritual home of the sport in Brazil will be a fantastic way to start the first wave of Rio 2016 events," said Rio 2016 executive director of sport, Agberto Guimaraes.
Rio's Olympic test events will be grouped into three sections.
Open-air sports like rowing Nike Vapormax White , road cycling and equestrian will be tested from July to October.

SAN FRANCISCO, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A gunman who reportedly tried to hijack a helicopter was killed Monday at an airport in Oregon.
Hillsboro police said the man tried to steal a helicopter at gunpoint outside a flight school at the Hillsboro Airport, hopped back over the fence at the sight of an officer and was fatally shot after a chase into a nearby field.
Hillsboro, the fifth-largest city in the State of Oregon, is 27 kilometers northwest of Portland Nike Vapormax Flyknit , the largest city in the U.S. Pacific Northwest state.
The incident took place at 11:23 a.m. local time when the masked man went up to a helicopter with a flight instructor and a student inside as it was warming up at Hillsboro Aero Academy, Hillsboro police spokesman Lt. Henry Reimann was quoted as saying in a report by The Oregonian.
The man opened the door, pointed a gun at the student and ordered the student out.
After a police showed up, the man ran from the helicopter, went back over the barbed-wire fence and fled across a local road. A second Hillsboro police officer encountered the man in a field and shot him, Reimann said. The man died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. Police haven't yet identified the suspect.
Flights were halted briefly and the airport was reopen by 1:00 p.m. Nike Vapormax , officials said.

CAIRO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister held talks on Sunday with the United Nations envoy for the Libyan crisis to discuss efforts for a political settlement in the neighboring war-torn Arab country.
"The Egyptian foreign minister updated the UN envoy with the recent efforts and moves done by Egypt to enhance and promote agreement and national reconciliation in Libya," said the Foreign Ministry's spokesman Ah.
