It's no secret that Brits like getting horny, but it turns out Londoners are hitting the sheets the most. Some people from the city are even bonking up to eight times a week, according to a recent study
Whether you're married, dating or playing the field – everyone has moments where they feel a bit frisky.
But new research carried out by Dreams revealed a lot about the UK's "friskiest" regions.
A recent sleep study conducted by 15,000 Brits found London ranks at the top of the UK’s friskiest places to live.
Not only are Londoners most likely to have sex before going to sleep, but a huge 40% also have sex with their partner three times a week or more.
And – it seems some people just can't get enough of getting jiggy in the Big Smoke – as a whopping 4% of those have it eight times a week or more, which is the highest amount in the UK.
When asked what they typically do in the hour before sleeping, 30% of Londoners admitted they use this time to have sex.
If that’s not enough, the capital’s residents also rank top for enjoying other intimate bedtime activities – with 46% admitting to having cuddles in bed with their partner at least four times a week.
These findings were not as positive for the northern regions.
The study highlighted people from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Yorkshire are having sex the least – with only 18% of residents using the hour before they go to sleep to have sex.
More than half of Scots (61%) revealed they're having sex in their bed less than twice a week – and 10% even consider sleeping in separate beds from their partners.
It seems that children are the biggest blockers of romance – with 28% of Brits admitting their children are unwelcome guests in their bed four times a week or more, making it impossible for some couples to find some time together.
Sammy Margo, Sleep Expert at Dreams, said: "Sex is beneficial to our health and can often contribute to better sleep because of the hormones released.
"It also reduces levels of the stress hormone, cortisol.
"Studies have shown that these hormonal changes associated with sex can induce drowsiness, which will assist an improvement in sleep quality.
"Our bedrooms are the epicentre of romantic relationships, yet certain aspects can make or break the romantic mood.
"Ensuring your bedroom is set up for love could help not only your sex life, but inevitably the quality of your sleep too."
