Jagex has set out plans to tackle the problem

  • The TTRPG will include an extravagantly illustrated, hardback, core book with guidelines for players playing an RuneScape tabletop role-playing game in OSRS Gold which they build your own character , discover Gielinor and develop new and thrilling quests. The TTRPG core book is also perfectly compatible with fifth edition ruleset in Dungeons & Dragons.

The RuneScape games will be Steamforged's twelfth adaptation of a video-based game for tabletop. The previous adaptations included the Monster Hunter: World board game, which made PS3.4 million through Kickstarter in 2021.

The trading of virtual currencies in exchange for real money could be a major issue for many online games. It can disrupt in-game economies, unbalancing player experiences, or turning games into win-to-win opportunities. In RuneScape the exchange of its digital 'gold' is a major issue with bots mining the resource, and even accusations that the possibility to purchase in-game bonds for real-world currency amounts to gambling.

Now, Jagex has set out plans to tackle the problem. In a new blog post that is attributed to "The RuneScape Team", Jagex states that "gold purchased via RWT is a problem for any online game that has the possibility of trading currency" The company also states that its "Anti-Cheating Team has taken a number of steps to stop RWT sellers both inside or out" but it is taking stronger measures with immediate beginning.

In a statement, Jagex claims to have an "growing team and better technology", Jagex says it will not be merely seeking out sellers of gold and resources through RWT but also buyers. Its goal is to cut down the demand and the supply.

Jagex has announced that it will have to send "messages to those that we've identified who are involved with OSRS Buy Gold the RWT" within "the coming hours". "For anyone involved, we'd like to make it clear that this is the one and only warning," the company added.
