Manchester United (MU) is rumored to be signing Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona. The transfer process for the Dutch player has reached 95 percent.
Certainty was expressed by the Spanish journalist, Gerard Moreno. Barcelona agreed to release Frenkie de Jong to Manchester United (MU) because they were not satisfied with his appearance.
"Before the season ends and with a 95 per cent chance, Frenkie de Jong will be released to Manchester United. This is purely an economic matter," said Gerard Moreno.
"Barcelona have to sell players who are not shining at the club. This mission will be completed around 70 million euros and 80 million euros," said Gerard Moreno.
Frenkie de Jong has long been linked with Manchester United (MU). The Red Devils' new manager, Erik ten Hag, is said to have made Frenkie de Jong a transfer target this summer.
Frenkie de Jong actually only joined Barcelona in July 2019. However, the unsatisfactory performance is the reason Barcelona are ready to release the player to Manchester United (MU).
Frenkie de Jong has made 138 appearances so far. The former Ajax player managed to score 13 goals and 17 assists.
However, this achievement is considered still lacking by Barcelona. Currently, De Jong is still under contract until June 30, 2026 at Camp Nou.
Manchester United (MU) is not alone in chasing the services of Frenkie de Jong. There are a number of elite clubs who are also monitoring the situation of the player at Barcelona.
