Spirit Airlines Adds New California Route from Fort Lauderdale

    The official announcement by Spirit Airlines:
    Spirit Airlines, located in South Florida, announced Thursday that it will begin service between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Oakland (OAK) in April. A daily flight on an Airbus A320 family aircraft will be available.

     

    As per the Cirium schedule- Spirit Airline is gonna be the only airline to offer direct or nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale & Oakland, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and United Airlines, on the other hand, travel from South Florida to San Francisco (SFO) complementing its flight between Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles (LAX).

     

    Spirit plans to boost capacity by 17-19% year-over-year in 2020 with the arrival of at least 21 new Airbus A320neos. New flights will be added between Fort Lauderdale and Colombia's Barranquilla (BAQ) and Bucaramanga (BGA), as well as a slew of new routes from Austin (AUS), Nashville (BNA), and San Juan (SJU).

     

    In December, the low-cost carrier debuted a new onboard cabin and seat aimed at giving passengers more "useful space." This year, Spirit hopes to introduce in-flight Wi-Fi as well as an upgraded reward programme.
