Attempt albion in case you're looking for OSRS gold new school old school runescape From what I've heard, individuals who prefer osrs tend to play with to get the PvP, skill development, and economy, which albion has in spades. The majority of the pursuit driven people I have spoke to proceeded to rs3. If you do love the mix of those two aspects of osrs then sadly there is not much else out there for you.
As time has passed, drops have become more common amongst the participant pool only because longer has allowed for them to fall, so it's to be expected. As far as IRL currency value, I believe it is around $0.60/million gp although I might be somewhat off. There are falls from brand new content worth hundreds of millions to a little more than a billion gp. I just started playing recently and it's been a blast up to now.

Just to help put things into a bit of view, your typical high level player can reasonably make 7-10m gold an hour doing lots of different jobs. Top tier guys can pull 35 million an hour. Newer players have access to articles fairly quick to make 3-5 million an hour.
Damn, not something I anticipated. Even with all the flack it gets, it has still got 40k online players at this time which puts it slightly below the number of players now playing Rust. Really curious what type of numbers it will pull and as a primarily Cheap Rs gold player, I really hope the game will not get inspection bombed from the OSRS players that are still upset with RS3, possibly scaring off new players.
