Just recently, Android users under the brand of Samsung experienced having an app pop up along the many background applications without them installing them. Of course, users are impressionable. They felt scared, and conspiracies ran amok, with spying conspiracies running here and viruses running there. One thing to note, though, is that the app is neither a bloatware nor a malware. The app is not going to hurt you or your phone.

But there is ultimately nothing to worry about, users and the android company said. But what did the users encounter? Firstly, a code that denotes "com.samsung.android.bbc.bbcagent" came up on their phones. Then if you search it on the Play Store, you get the app entitled BBC Agent Android, which has a unique name and packaging directed towards a particular demographic only.

Later on, the users received a clarification, stating that BBCAgent is not a joke and harmful to anyone. It’s the new component to the security system of android phones for specific Samsung device users. It has many features, such as overall internal machinery management. Still, as a part of the system that secures the phone from any threat of hacking or virus, its main functions revolve around it.

The first has to do with protecting data. Just like the previous security systems that the company used, BBCAgent Android will be having a special chip inside it, which encrypts and sets more securities for different kinds of data there is in the phone. From personal information like your name, address, contact numbers, etc. to transaction details like the use of credit card to buy this particular item, to whatever fits the label data for the new app.

The app also imposes greater scrutiny to apps that come from third-party websites. Any kind of download, like files, apps, photos, music, etc. will be rejected for download in default, unless the user knows where they are heading onto and decides to loosen up the settings for it through the app or the general Settings app. The app will be preventing the installation of an app even if the download process deems itself done, if the app notices anything that is sketchy with the app or digital file.

But it is not only about securing and making it hard for you to have freedom of access in your phone. It is more about securing you but also giving you incentives to not disable to uninstall the app. For instance, the app introduces better security features, like a Single Sign-On, One Time Pin, hiding notifications from the lock screen, and the ability to make multiple accounts in one phone, each for a specific area of life, like working then studying.
