Raiders want fans to park 3 miles away from Las Vegas stadium | NFL | Sporting News.

Fans of the soon-to-be relocated Raiders may be a 5K away from the new stadium when football finally comes to Sin City, the Las Vegas Sun reported. The proposed stadium site in Las Vegas will only have 2,400 parking spaces — 15 percent of the legally-required spots for the 65,000-seat venue.

To overcome the incredible parking deficit, as outlined in a recently submitted 30-year joint-use agreement, the Raiders want to use 80 acres of parking space at the UNLV campus more than three miles away. Fans will then be shuttled to the stadium.

According to the document, the Raiders propose no payment to the university for using the land beyond "net revenues from parking fees during home games, NFL events and any other event for which at least 30,000 tickets are Cheap Madden 18 Coins available." Instead, UNLV will get to choose whether to play its football games at the stadium on grass or artificial turf with the Raiders footing the bill.If UNLV chooses a natural surface, the Rebels will likely share the same turf and be asked to clear any university markings from the grass after use. Artificial turf would allow UNLV to have permanent markings.

The proposed deal for the $1.9 billion shared venue seems to have benefits for each side. However, the fan experience appears ignored. Tailgating for an NFL game on a college campus before taking a shuttle three miles for the actual game can't be what Las Vegas football fans envisioned.
