Enjoy a Little Tech-Free Family Time (297)
(NewsUSA) - Family dinners aren't what they used to be -- football games are blaring in the foreground and parents must remind children to turn off their phones, and struggle to keep their own fingers from itching to check their email.
Internet technology has caused family dynamics to change rapidly across the country. Family structures aren't the same, communication has been irrevocably altered and family time doesn't look like it used to.
Taking the initiative to bring families closer together, The Company Store, now celebrating its 100th anniversary, recently announced the launch of the National Family Pajama Night campaign slated for the evening of Saturday, November 19, 2011. Inspired by the brand's seasonal collection of matching pajamas for the entire family, National Family Pajama Night is about creating an evening the children will never forget.
"With today's busy schedules, families are challenged to squeeze in quality time together between work commitments, soccer practices and playdates. Our goal in creating National Family Pajama Night is to encourage families to put the focus back on each other, by creating memories that strengthen family ties," says Keith Hagood, general manager of The Company Store.
By pledging their involvement, families will begin receiving "Idea of the Day" tips consisting of unique, fun activities for their family night. Each pledge will also help achieve the goal of The Company Store donating $20,000 worth of pajamas to children in need through the Pajama Program organization.
"Whether families engage in a treasure hunt, doing tag team drawings, or making a glow-in-the-dark mural, it is our hope that National Family Pajama Night will become an annual event that will continue to flourish," says Hagood.
