The launch of the IWC Mark XX is of great importance for IWC. On the one hand, the IWC Mark XI model is one of the pillars of the brand and historical models are as sought after as ever. On the other hand, the IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XX model as a simple three-hand watch with a date is, so to speak, the starting point for all elaborate IWC pilot's fake watches from chronograph, tourbillon or perpetual calendar. Accordingly, IWC has revised the new Mark XX both visually and technically.

The ambition was so great that they even skipped the prime number “XIX” and headed straight for the IWC Mark XX model.

The design improvements are rather subtle. The dial is unchanged black or blue and the numbers and the hands, numbers and indices equipped with Super-LumiNova luminous material stand out in white in the usual manner. However, the readability of the date was significantly improved by switching to a white background. The hand surrounds also received a visible refinement. They are now rhodium-coated and have a slight shine. To be honest, recognizing the further fine adjustments such as number positioning etc. is only possible with a direct comparison with the previous model.

The most significant, visually noticeable change is probably the reduced height. At 11 mm, the IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII was not particularly high before. However, the 40 mm brushed stainless steel case with shiny bezel of the Mark XX is even slimmer at 10.8 mm and therefore somewhat more elegant.

The reduction in height was made possible by the most important innovation of the IWC pilot's replica watch info - the in-house caliber 32111. This 4 Hz movement, which is still protected from magnetic fields by a soft iron ring, is obtained by IWC from the Richemont caliber specialist ValFleurier and is the further development of the caliber 32110. This is how it contributes It reliably serves its sister companies as the caliber P900 at Panerei or as the caliber 13-1975A at Baume & Mercier.

The deviation of -4 to +6 seconds per day is correspondingly equally small. Another positive feature is the extremely easy-to-carry battery life of up to 120 hours or 5 days. With this in-house caliber made up of 164 components with Geneva stripes and perlage finishing, the IWC Mark XX now stands out from the previous model with the Sellita caliber.

However, the wearer of the watch will have to deal with this improvement mentally, as the movement remains invisible under the screwed steel back. After all, there has to be room for improvements in the subsequent models Mark XXI etc. In return, the buyer of a new IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XX can look forward to the significantly improved water resistance of up to 100 meters. With this protection against water penetration, the new Mark XX pilot's watch can now be worn while swimming without any problems - provided the screw-down crown is properly locked.

The blue or black leather strap with darts, depending on the dial color, certainly increases wearing comfort with its IWC fake quick-change system. It allows the Mark XX band to be changed in just a few seconds.
