Having suffered significant defeats at the hands of SK Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas, losing 2-16 and 5-16 respectively, Virtus. Pro’s tournament life was on the line in a match against Fnatic.
Unfortunately, it was another crushing loss for the Polish side. While VP seem to be struggling, Fnatic look to be in resurgent form, and they offered no mercy in a crucial match for survival. Starting out on the T side, the Swedish squad jumped out to an early lead and never let up, reaching a 13-2 score line in the first half. A 1v2 for Freddy ‘Krimz’ Johansson in the second pistol round put the nail in the coffin, and Fnatic handed Virtus. Pro their second 16-2 defeat of the tournament.
Virtus. Pro are a team known for alternating between periods of peaks and slumps, and their surprising results here perhaps suggest they may have entered their own latest dip within performance. Fnatic, meanwhile, aren’t quite safe yet, now sitting at a 2-2 record and waiting for the final draw that will decide who they face for a spot in the play-offs.
