The upcoming North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham is at risk of being postponed due to potential rail strikes.

All 12 rail companies are plotting to down tools on October 1 and October 5 amid disputes over pay. Mikel Arteta's Gunners are set to welcome Antonio Conte's Spurs side on the day the strikes start for a 12.30pm kick-off at the Emirates, being broadcast live on BT Sport for UK fans.

Should they go ahead, the Premier League could be forced into postponing the fixture, just as they had to for Brighton's clash with Crystal Palace which was scheduled for this weekend.

The strikes were postponed in light of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, but they could be back on at the start of next month.

It's news which won't be welcomed by Arsenal boss Arteta, who has seen his side's last two games be called off. The full English football calendar was removed last weekend as a show of respect for Queen Elizabeth II.

And then the Gunners' midweek clash with PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League was forced into postponement, with the police operation surrounding the Queen's state funeral leaving resources in the capital light.

Other Premier League matches may also be at risk on October 1. There's a total of four London-based games that day, including Crystal Palace vs Chelsea, Fulham vs Newcastle and West Ham vs Wolves, which is the 5.30 kick-off live on Sky Sports that evening.

Strikes up and down the country may threaten the rest of the schedule too, with Bournemouth hosting Brentford, Brighton travelling to Liverpool and Southampton welcoming Everton.

Some games have gone ahead despite planned strikes days in the past, so they won't necessarily lead to postponements. The Premier League will likely meet to determine the outcome during the international break.
