In the midst of Legion's nearing upon us, we sat with chief game design Luis Barriga, technical WOTLK Gold game designer Chad Nervig and the character designer Genevieve Saint-Michel to talk about the long-in-development expansion greater detail, delving into the specifics surrounding Legion's huge changes , and discussing the future plans of the team after launch.
P2Pah: I'm just starting out Please give us an overview of how Legion can be integrated into existing mythology?
Barriga: The focus of the expansion is the third return of the Burning Legion to Azeroth. These guys have attempted to invade us twice, and we've beat them back before. This kind of brings us to our first big event that I'm extremely thrilled about. It's Demon Hunters. They are the Special Forces branch of the Elf, if you like were Demon Hunters. The most powerful. They trained solely for finding and eliminating demons.
Unfortunately, their tactics were misunderstood their fellow brethren. They were smuggled out of the country and put into jail. You're one of these followers of Illidan. When the Legion returns, it's, "Well, do we decide to go for it against these rebellious Demon Hunters or do we wish to accept defeat?" The nobles decide to bite the bullet to let so-called World of Warcraft out, and that's when Demon Hunters come in.
This Demon Hunter class represents a dark area for the good guys
When we talked about revisiting the concept that there were Demon Hunters, revisiting Illidan, what excited me was we get to tell the story that we weren't able to tell. If you weren't able to agree with Illidan and his story, you knew where he came from. We'd like to change the tone and change the direction 15 degrees, 20-degrees, but we also would like it to be respectful of the characters we depicted. Players will see their return to Alturus, Akama, Illidan Maiev, and others. All characters that we began to plant the seeds for the stories we told a long time prior to Burning Crusade.
What is the way that the story will be organized how will the story be structured in Legion? Is there a single sequential campaign or is the story's story broken up in some way?
The Nervig: Each area has their own unique storyline.
Saint-Michel: Further of the general storyline is contained in the Class Halls of your school, so you're not missing any part of the story's cheap WOW WOTLK Classic Gold overarching narrative. It's generally a lot of fun for players who play a number of different charactersfor a variety of characters. You can start in one zone on one character, and then go to another zone for another. And you'll see all the different stories in those zones. However, the overall story is still being told through Class Order Halls.
