Abd al Mutalib, who was the grandfather of the Holy Prophet, liked Hateem a lot. At that time, this was Hazrat Abdl al Mutalib's place, and no one else sat here or used it. Hijr Ismail is another name for Hateem. Inside Hateem, he had dreams about how the Prophet was born and how the holy well Zamzam was dug. It is a small wall that used to be a part of the Kaaba. It is a small wall next to the northwest wall of the Kaaba, but it does not connect to it. White marble is used to make it. Hazrat Ayesha (RA) asked Muhammad (PBUH) why Hijr Ismail wasn't connected to the walls of the Kaaba. He (SAW) told her that it was because Quraysh didn't have enough money.
The cube shape of Kaaba
The world's most famous cube used to be in the shape of a rectangle. It was never supposed to be a cube. The actual size of the house included the half-circle area called the Hijr Ismail. When the Kaaba was rebuilt a few years before the prophet (PBUH) received his first revelation, the people of the Quraysh agreed to only use money from pure sources to finish the job. So, they built a smaller version of the Kaaba called "hijr Ismail" out of bricks.
